British Values and Prevent
British values are defined as “democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs”; institutions are expected to encourage students to respect other people with particular regard to the protected characteristics set out in the Equality Act 2010.
The Prevent duty guidance requires that leaders and teachers exemplify British values in their management, teaching and through general behaviours in institutions, including through opportunities in the further education curriculum. Ofsted has highlighted the variable quality of teaching and learning of British values and expect that British values will be explored in depth.

There is an expectation that British Values and Prevent will be covered with all learners and good news, British Values, Prevent and ERR come as standard with any of our courses!
The aim of the Prevent strategy is to reduce the threat to the UK from terrorism by stopping people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. The aim of British Values is to encourage learners to respect each other. It is imperative everyone understands both initiatives.
This course ensures that learners have undertaken training in both the Prevent Duty and British Values as requested by Ofsted. This course is delivered in a unique, engaging and high-quality format.
By the end of this course learners will be aware of when it is appropriate to refer Prevent related concerns and that they exemplify British values of “democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs” into their practice.
